The user group was started in late 2008 and organized its first meeting on April 2009. 2012 Aug 14	Second DevFest Berlin preparation meeting e.g. Google Calendar API more... Many of you already know that there won't be a Google Developer Day in Berlin, Germany, DACH, Europe, ... this year. But there will be Google Developer Group organized DevFests in many place all over the world - Berlin will have a GDG DevFest, too. Google will support GDGs preparing DevFests in many ways and GDG Berlin + GDG Berlin Android are looking forward to have a great DevFest (most probably) in late September (22nd/ 23rd) @ c-base (+additional rooms) If you're interested in helping to prepare and run the DevFest in Berlin it would be great if you join the first DevFest Berlin preparation meeting on 14th of August, 8pm, at c-base. The preparations for the GDG DevFest in Berlin are in an early stage and you'll have the chance to develop the DevFest, to meet & work withother GDG members and to be part of a great event. There will be many ways to help, depending on how you shape the event. Looking forward to meet you on 14th of August, 8pm, at c-base.

Introduction to the Dart language on 24th of May, co-organized by Berlin JS, JUG BB and Berlin GTUG We had two top Dart language specialists from the Google office in Aarhus in Denmark, the birthplace of Dart, visiting us for a joint event of Berlin JS, JUG BB and Berlin GTUG. Florian Loitsch, one of the engineers in the core Dart team, and Anders Sandholm, product manager at Google, provided us with in depth information about the Dart language for stuctured web apps. The two fold event on Thursday, 24th of May, took place at co-working space AHOY!Berlin in Charlottenburg near Stuttgarter Platz. Have a look at our blog for more.
2012 Mar 26	March 2012 Berlin GTUG meeting Google App Engine 25 attendees more... Lets get together late March to celebrate the early spring arrival in Berlin and reconnect on Google technology. Sorry for the late notice, but we decided it would be better to have a small event next week rather than wait for our late April meeting to see each other again. Therefore we are looking forward to welcoming you in the Less Rain basement, where Jerome will present How to super-charge your startup with Google App Engine, and our usual GTUG updates. Afterwards lets have a drink and chat.The Meeting will take place on Monday, 26th of March, at 7pm. We'll meet at Less Rain, Linienstrasse 154a, 10115 Berlin.About our main presentation: How to super-charge your startup with Google App EngineJerome, CTO at SnapEngage, will briefly present Google AppEngine, and will focus on why the PaaS from Google should be a hosting platform considered by any early stage Internet startup. The presentation will then focus on good practices to get started with Google AppEngine, and some ways to avoid common issues.
2012 Feb 13	February 2012 Berlin GTUG meeting Android, Google Institute in Berlin 65 attendees more... Berlin GTUG met on 13th. of February, 7pm @ IS24 Scoutlounge. After several great GTUG events last year we wanted to start 2012 with another highly interesting meeting. Topics were: - The Berlin "Zukunftsinsitut" / "Alexander von Humboldt Institut für Internet und Gesellschaft" that was funded by Google. Ahmet Emre Açar from www.internetundgesellschaft.de will inform us about the institute and we will have a chance for disussion, too. - IS24, KaufDa, Komoot (alphabetical order) all have a multi-platform mobile strategy and will give presentations on how they manage the cross-platform development process. Doors opened at 6:30pm, presentations started at 7pm.

The next meeting of the Berlin GTUG will take place on September 12th, starting at 18:30, in the cafeteria of Club-Office, a very nice co-working and office space, located Bundesallee 171, 10715 Berlin.Please, sign up on our new meetup event registration page as soon as possible to assist us with the organization.Our main topics for this event will be Google Closure and the Play framework on Google App Engine.Filip M. Noetzel, a rockstar freelancer from Berlin will walk us through Google Closure. Google Closure Tools is a set of building blocks open sourced by Google in November 2009 used to build products like Gmail, Maps, Docs, Sites, Books, Reader, Calendar, etc. — It consists of Closure Compiler (a JS-to-JS compiler aimed to make your JavaScript smaller, faster and more robust), Closure Library (a rather comprehensive JavaScript library designed for building large applications), Closure Templates (a Client-and-Server templating solution) and a few other tools built around this ecosystem. The talk will provide an overview on these tools, a little background on why things are designed the way they are, differences to other solutions and why you might want to choose Closure for your next web project.Our second topic will be presented by Raphael Andre Bauer, a regular attendee and presenter at our GTUG, and an awesome localentrepreneur. The next meeting of the Berlin GTUG will take place on April 26th, starting at 18:30. Our main topics are Free and Open Source Software Licences and PayPal integration in Android Apps.Matthias Kirschner from Free Software Foundation Europe (fsfe.org) will talk about possible licenses for Free and Open Source Software. There are plenty of different licenses and not all of them fit every software project. Changing the license can be virtually impossible for existing code and the chosen license affects the attractiveness of the project.Therefore we are happy to have Matthias present us the current and future facts needed for your licence decisions.Corrado Tomassoni, Paypal Developer Community Manager Europe, will talk about "How to monetize your Android App with PayPal", including technical information on the PayPal services API. 2011 Mar 16	March 2011 Berlin GTUG Meeting Google AJAX APIs, Semantic Web 11 attendees more... The next GTUG Berlin will take place at Zanox Campus, Stralauer Allee 2, 10245 Berlin, on the 16th of March at 18:30.Main Topic will be "Google, Linked Data, the Semantic Web, Rich Snippets, and how all this is connected" presented by Thomas Steiner from Google Hamburg. We will run our regular Google Tech Roundup presentation to keep us all up to date with the news in Google technology, API, products, etc. We will also discuss the upcoming events, including the DroidCon in Berlin, Google IO and the Google IO Extended event in Berlin. Like we had a short Google TV demo at last meeting, this time it is the Google Chrome OS netbook CR-48 that will be in the spotlight. You will have time at the end of the event to play with this latest Google gear.We will open the event with Lightning Talk (5 minutes or less) from our members to brief us on what they are doing with Google Technology. 2010 Jul 15	July 2010 Berlin GTUG meeting Buzz API more... Chris Chabot from Google will be visiting us from San Francisco, and will be presenting the newly released Google Buzz API. He will be available to do some coding and hacking with us on how to build great social apps with this new API. Paul Kinlan from Google London will also be coming to the Berlin. He will assist Chris on the social aspect of Buzz but will also talk about some cool HTML5 things. The format of this event will be different from our regular Berlin GTUG. We will start at 18h with Googlers Chris and Paul going through a presentation about the Google Buzz API, and some cool social and HTML5 demos.Sandwiches, cakes and refreshments will be provided.

Just check our Google Group, and feel free to ask any question there: http://groups.google.com/group/berlin-gtug Google Chrome Extension Hackathons / GTUG battle Der Google Chrome Extension Hackathon am 26.02.2010 in Berlin ist ein Event aus einer Reihe von Veranstaltungen, die innerhalb einiger Wochen bei verschiedenen GTUGs (Hamburg, Düsseldorf, München , Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Berlin, Frankfurt, Münster/Ostwestfahlen, Nürnberg, ...) stattfinden. In diesem Zusammenhang ist auch der "GTUG battle" zu verstehen. Die während der Veranstaltungsreihe von den teilnehmenden Teams erstellten Extensions werden nach dem Abschluss der Veranstaltungsreihe von einer Jury verglichen und prämiert. Dabei ist zu beachten, dass die Teams Mitglieder einer GTUG sein müssen und aus 2 bis 5 Personen bestehen können. Mitglied einer GTUG zu werden ist nicht schwierig, eine gute Möglichkeit dafür bietet sich z.B. während des Google Chrome Extension Hackathon in Berlin. Da die Extensions nicht bis zum Ende des Abends fertig sein müssen sollte das auch problemlos möglich sein. August meeting for the Berlin Google Technology User Group, at Zanox GAP Campus This meeting will have a Google Wave focus. We will have an introduction to Wave, a demo, and discussion on extending Wave. Attendees will be able to try/play with Wave during the event. Even though the opening of the Google Wave test environment is scheduled for September 30th, we are working on getting developer accounts for Berlin GTUG attendees interested in testing and developing Wave gadgets and robots.
