We are going to watch livestream from Google I/O in San Francisco. It will be great opportunity to have interesting discussion about future of Google Technology. There will be food and cool gadgets provided.

This time we will not do coding. But the subject will be very interesting as well.We will have opportunity to hear 3 Googlers talking about Google AdWords and Analytics. In addition, there will be a special guest Marcin Kosedowski, who will share his experience on Google AdSense.

Sit together for whole weekend and build mindblowing Android apps. Simple as that.

On our meeting in March, Przemysław Pokrywka gave us an introduction to wonderful programming language - Scala. He tried to prepare us for the lecture by Piotr Adamski on the next meeting. It will be a short story about 10% of Scala's scope which makes Android programmers' life easier by 90%. No buzzwords and no beat about the bush.

 

On the next meeting we are having two speakers:

1. Michał Szynkaruk will give a talk about Facebook and Twitter integration in Android Apps through their APIs. We will find out how to get sign in, configure and get wall posts an tweets into our app.
2. Piotr Pietroń is going to show us how easy is to build an Android App with minimum coding efforts using Android SDK and ADT plugin for Eclipse. Of course proper examples will be presented.

There will be also some time to do Lightning Talks for people willing to give a short presention on related subject.

 

On the next meeting we are having two speakers:

1. Jan Filipowski will show us how we could use Google Spreadsheet as an UI in our web applications.
2. Przemysław Pokrywka is going to give us an introduction to Scala language. We hope to use this on one of upcoming events when we will try to get Scala running on Android.

Our next meeting is going to be about dealing with fragmentation of Android platform using proper testing. On overview on this will be given by Roman Kierzkowski. He will show us testing tools provided by Google with Android SDK like MonkeyRunner. We will se also some other tools (free and commercial products) like Robotium and TestDroid which extend testing capabilities for Android apps.

 

Node.js is the project getting a lot of hype during last few months. The core of this project is V8 - the fastest Javascript engine by Google. Piotr Koszuliński will make a proper introduction of this interesting project. He will show that Javascript is  the language useful not only in a browser but also very powerful on the serverside.

It's the event in our chapter. So we are going to start with the overview on the GTUG idea and what we are going to do in our community.

Then we will move to Chrome Apps which is the main topic. We will try to show how to change simple web application into Chrome application and say how it can improve your app.

We will show some Chrome Apps examples and hopefully the process of putting an app to Chrome Web Store.
