Attendees of this summer's Google IO will share their experiences and some of the goodies with the group.

MUGTUG members are taking a pilgrimage to Google's Atlanta office to visit Atlanta's GTUG for a talk discussing developing for Google TV.

MUGTUG members who were unable to receive Google IO tickets in the initial registration participated in a programming competition to recieve Last Call Google IO Tickets.

Levi Lewis, Travis Cooper, and Micheal Deakin will be showing how their Virtual Campus Tour created for the Mercer Admissions Office implements a vareity of Google web tools including Google Maps API, Google Forms, and Google Dev Tools. High school students from the Macon area will be in attendance to meet and greet college students and professionals in the technological field.

Mercer University Computer Science student, Levi Lewis, will be giving a presentation on Google Analytics. The talk will discuss how to implement it on your site and how to use the software to track traffic to your website.

Mercer University CS Professor, Dr. Laurie White, will be giving a presentation on the Go Programming Language and showing how to solve programming contest problems in the language

Mercer University Senior in Computer Science, Travis Cooper, will be giving a look into Google Sites and how it compares to building websites in other interfaces.

On March 27 at 10AM EST, MUGTUG will be having a Google IO 2012 Ticket Registration Party in lab 200. IO hopefuls will be meeting in lab 200 in the Computer Science Building.

MUGTUG organizer, Levi Lewis, will be giving a breif overview on the upcoming Google IO conference in June 27-29. He will also be discussing a possible Google IO regisstration party as well as a look at the Input/Output software Google has released with the 2012 website.

A Code for America fellow will be presenting his work with Mozilla Popcorn which adds great functionality to Google products such as Youtube by implementing slideshows & Google Maps into the video. 

To prepare for the creation of the Where's Waldo app, MUGTUG watched the 2011 Google IO Presentation discussing the pros and cons of using native or html5 for mobile development.

Mercer University professor, Dr. Robert Allen, will be giving a presentation on his work with fusion tables. There is a possibility that this event may be postponed, but if anything changes, we should know by tomorrow.

On 2/7/2012, MUGTUG will be hosting an open discussion on the changes that will be made to Google's Privacy Policies starting March 1st, 2012. This information is very important for anyone who uses Google Products, so we encourage everyone to attend!

On 1/31/2012, MUGTUG hosted a refresher on how to use Eclipse to create Android applications.

On 1/24/2012, MUGTUG presented how to add Google Maps into a project's web development using the Google Maps API.

On 11/30/2011, MUGTUG hosted a meeting about how to use OpenGL in Android Development.

On 11/23/2011, MUGTUG was visted by Mercer's Programming Language course students who presented an introduction into the programming language, Go.

This first meeting of Mercer University's Google Technology User group explained the purpose of GTUG meetings, what the organization does, and how poeple could get involved.

On 11/16/2011 MUGTUG gave an extended presentation how to do more advanced topics for Android using Eclipse.

On 11/9/2011, MUGTUG had a presentation introducing attendees to how to use Eclipse to create Android applications.

On 11/9/2011, MUGTUG gave a brief overview of the new tools added to HTML5 such as new html tags and other helpful additions. MUGTUG also showed how Chrome Dev Tools were used to debug problems with HTML5.

On Wednesday, Oct. 26th, MUGTUG hosted an Introduction into Javascript where our members learned the tools needed to successfully create Javascript in their web design. MUGTUG also showed how Chrome Development Tools could be used to troubleshoot Javascript.

On October 19, 2011, MUGTUG met together to watch the presentation, "HTML5 Showcase for Web Developers: The Wow and the How" from last year's Google IO Conference.

On Wednesday, Oct. 5th, MUGTUG hosted an Introduction into HTML. In order for us to learn all the wonderful things that HTML5 can do, we needed to make sure that everyone has an understanding of the basics of HTML. We introduced HTML as well as gave a brief introduction into CSS as well. We also did a brief overview of the Chrome Development Tools.

On Wednesday, Sept. 22, MUGTUG hosted the event, AppInDinner. We learned how to use the Android Development Software, AppInventor. Afterwards will went to the Shamrock where Dr. White bought food for everyone, hence the "Dinner" portion of the title. AppInventor is very easy to pick up even if you have never programmed before.
