The KNUST Google Technology User Group is based in the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, and is an open and non-profit developers' group that seeks to learn, share and know more about Google technology. Up and running since January 2010, the KNUST GTUG hosts regular events in the area of the university campus to explore technology, share knowledge and to have fun. Membership is open to anyone interested in Google technologies.The KNUST GTUG is an independent user group with an interest in Google technology and the content from this group is entirely independent from Google, the corporation.

They have brainstorm sections on peculiar problems and start developing ideas and ways of overcoming them. This event will be the second of it's kind held this year. The first one was held at the College of Engineering auditorium at KNUST, Kumasi on the 18th of September 2010.
2010 Sep 18	Barcamp Kumasi Android, Google Maps APIs 25 attendees more... Barcamp is just an event under which attendees come together to share ideas, tackle societal problems and starts developing ways to solve them. This year's barcamp was held at the College of Engineering Auditorium, KNUST Ghana. Under this barcamp, we had breakout sections where attendees were grouped based on interests. There were four topics during the breakout sections and these were software freedom day,introduction to the android platform, running an anti-virus free operating system and leadership. The knustGTUG handled the section on Android. During this section, Edward Pie and Davis Joseph George (both members of the knustGTUG) introduced the Android platform from the perspective of the user and the developer's perspective. We explained to the attendees why android is so special and wow! We recorded the highest number of attendees amongst all the breakout sections held. At the end of the breakout sections, Liman Adamu Labaran, an attendee gave a summary of everything he heard about the Android under our breakout section.
