Google Drive is a newly launched cloud storage solution for users to store their files and sync them on multiple devices.Google Drive also launched with the ability to integrate with third party web applications and let you deeply integrate with Google Drive. A number of companies announced their Google Drive integration such as Pixlr, Autocad, Balsamiq, Lucidcharts just to name a few.There are numerous advantages in using user-managed cloud storage solution such as Google Drive in web applications. Web applications can integrate deeply with Google Drive, taking advantage of its free storage and leveraging the millions of files already hosted on user’s Drive.First we’ll see how you can register, set up and distribute your Drive application. Then, we’ll have a deeper look into the authentication and authorization flows used in Drive which are based on OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect. We’ll conclude by looking at how Drive Files are created and read using Drive’s REST APIs and how you can use our client libraries to integrate easily.

As part of our ongoing partnership with Startup Weekend, we're organizing an evening of exciting talks about a range of Google technologies to help prepare developers for the weekend. We're pleased to welcome Vojta Jina from Google Mountain View to talk about AngularJS, a great new open source JavaScript framework that's been used in a number of Google projects, such as Google+ feedback. Google Chart Tools provide a perfect way to visualize data on your website. From simple scatter plots to hierarchical tree maps, the chart galley is artfully designed to enable crisp presentation of your data. Populating your data is made easy with a set of both client-side and server-side data tools.Riccardo will speaking about the latest Google Chart Tools offering, from basic charting needs powered by Google Spreadsheets data, to automation via integration with Google Apps Script, to advanced dashboards generation and data exploration powered by Fusion Tables data. Google I/O brings together developers for two days of deep technical content, focused on building the next generation of web, mobile, and enterprise applications with Google and open web technologies such as Android, Google Chrome, Google APIs, Google Web Toolkit, App Engine, and more.Google I/O Extended is an opportunity for developers around the world to watch the keynote streamed live from San Francisco. In London we'll be streaming over both days, followed with snacks and a chance to talk to other developers about the technology demonstrated.

Google Maps has a wide array of APIs that let you embed the robust functionality and everyday usefulness of Google Maps into your own website and applications, and overlay your own data on top of them. Fusion Tables is a service for managing large collections of tabular data in the cloud. You can upload tables of up to 100MB and share them with collaborators, or make them public. 

The code-jam will introduce Google Maps API and Fusion Tables, and will provide an opportunity to create a maps-fusion table mashup app. More details in the agenda below. 

Speaker(s)/Organizer(s): Mano has been on Google’s Developer Relations team for the last four years, and is the lead Developer Advocate for Google’s Geo APIs. He has travelled the world helping individuals, corporations, governments and aid organizations use Google’s mapping technologies to communicate their message to the world. Before Google, Mano had an eclectic career that involved getting a Masters in History, a Masters in Information Management and Systems, and working as a data manager in NGOs for over a decade. 

Keir runs Google Maps Mania, a blog that has, for the last five years, been documenting the applications built with the Google Maps API. When not writing for Google Maps Mania he works as a freelance developer and on his own Google Maps based applications. Before taking on Google Maps Mania full-time Keir worked as a lecturer in English Literature and has a Masters in Multimedia.

Overview: Javascript is the language of the web. But it's not always the right tool for the job. What if we could program the web safely and securely, in any language at all? Native Client makes that possible, by bringing together the safety of JavaScript with the flexibility of compiled code. As a bonus, there's usually a substantial performance improvement. This talk explains what Native Client is and how to use it to program web pages with C++.

Overview: Go is a simple, fast, safe, concurrent, fun and open source systems programming language. Go is ready and stable now. Google reportedly use Go in some of their production enviroment. You can learn more about Go here (http://golang.org). It is said that the best way to learn a new programming language is to build something using it. Here's your chance to learn Go by attending a hackathon organized by London Google Technology User Group(www.london-gtug.org). Don't worry if you haven't used Go before. Andrew Gerrand from the Go lang team, will be walking us through the basics in the morning, followed by the hackathon in the afternoon. Andrew will be on hand to help and to answer questions throughout the day. Pre-requisites: You will need the following for the hackathon:  1. Laptop (running OS X, Linux, FreeBSD, or a Linux VM*)  2. Familiarity with a UNIX environment.  3. A Go installation (see http://golang.org/doc/install.html)  4. Chromium is an open-source browser project that aims to build a safer, faster, and more stable way for all Internet users to experience the web. Extensions are a great way to add more features and functionality to the browser. Sometimes, a feature is really useful for some people, but not for everyone. Extensions let you customize Google Chrome with features you like, while keeping your browser free of clutter that you don't use.

Arne Roomann-Kurrik and Paul Kinlan from the Chrome Developer Relations team will walk you through the developer APIs for creating an extension.

HTML5 is a set of new technologies to build rich internet applications such as Canvas, SVG, WebSockets, localStorage, Web Workers, Application Cache, WebGL and many more. 

We will speak about how you, as web designers and web developers, can take advantage of those new features right away.

Chromium OS is an open-source project that aims to build an operating system that provides a fast, simple, and more secure computing experience for people who spend most of their time on the web.

We have a speaker from the Chrome Developer Relations to talk about the design, goals, and vision of the next generation OS.

Description:

Google Wave is a product that helps users communicate and collaborate on the web. A "wave" is equal parts conversation and document, where users can almost instantly communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more. Google Wave is also a platform with a rich set of open APIs that allow developers to embed waves in other web services and to build extensions that work inside waves.

Chris Chabot is a Developer Advocate at Google, who's interested in Open Source, OpenSocial, and trying to do the impossible. Most recently he's been the driving force behind PHP Shindig, the reference OpenSocial server implementation, Partuza a popular open-source example social network site that shows how to use OpenID, OAuth and OpenSocial, and the OpenSocial PHP client libraries.
