Google Developer Group-Gaza organized a workshop entitled "Securama" on 15th Dec. 2011 in Roots Restaurant. The workshop introduced the dealing with Security on the websites and web applications. The workshop lasted for five hours, and targeted almost 100 of the students and developers in Computer Engineering and Information Technology sector. Professional speakers discussed and presented the different sessions about security concept on the web.
Eng. Ann Abdelwahed, one of the GDG – Gaza Organizers commenced the workshop. She thanked the corporate sponsors: Golden Tech, Technology and Business Incubator-Islamic University and Jawwal Company. Ann talked about the change of "GTUG Gaza" to the new name "GDG Gaza". She indicated that the name is changed officially by Google to specialize the group for developers, after the Google creation for a new group "Google Business Group" that focuses on business. Now there are two officially groups, one for development (GDG) and another one for business (GBG).
First session "Do's and Don'ts in web Security" was introduced by Eng. Mohammed El-Khoudary that discussed what the developers should do and what they should not do to increase the security in their websites and web applications. Second session "CAPTCHA Security System" was introduced by Eng. Mohammed Fahajan that discussed the CAPTCHA system concept and its important role in the information security on the web. He introduced the types of CAPTCHA and how to use it. Third session "How hackers think?!" was introduced by Mohammed El-Madhoun, that discussed how the hackers think, and what are the ways the use to hack a website or application. The last discussion session was introduced by Eng. Mohammed El-Safady that introducd the Framework Security and What to look for, when using a framework to build secure apps.
At the end of the workshop, there was a spirit of competition when a competition was held between attendees to hack a web page using SQL Injection and XSS. Eng. Mohammed Taha was the winner.

GTUG Gaza participated in the Week of Electrical Engineering and Information Technonolgy "WEEIT" that organized by Engineering Syndicate at Gaza. GTUG Speakers participated in two sesssions. The first one was about "PhoneGap" and how to build native mobile applications using this technique. The second one was about "Google AdSense & Google AdWords". What are the differences between them? How to advertise about your company by using these google technologies?and how to earn money using these techniques?

Team Discovery

GTUG Gaza organized a two days event entitled "Team Discovery". Developers and businessmen came together to acquire skills about team managment tehchniques and the most professional online collaboration tools that plays a significant role in the team work.
At the first day, there were dicscussions and presentations about different team managment tools that facilitate the team work and produce efficient producats, such as "Goolge Drive". At the second day, acompitition was launched between different teams. Each team worked on its own idea using the managemnt tools that presented at the first day.
Prizez were given to the three top projects at the end of the event.
