We just received confirmation that our next Meetup is going to be on November 17th at our designated spot: Citrix Ft Lauderdale.

In this occasion George Holler is going to be presenting his experience developing with AppEngine.

George is a Lead Java Web Developer at Citrix. He and his team have been working with the GWT/AppEngine combo for the last year, and he is going to be giving an introduction, as well as a brief demo.

AppEngine: Launched in 2008, Google App Engine provides Tier 1 Internet access to enterprises and developers. It requires applications to be written in Python or Java and also use Google's BigTable non-relational database and GQL query language, which is similar to SQL. Existing applications typically have to be modified to use App Engine.

Talk: Introduction to GWT By: Nelson Melo & Luis Atencio

Depending on the crowd experience with GWT, we'll be covering some of the basics of the technology. There will be a demo of what GWT can do and there will be a space reserved at the end for Q&A and debate.

From the Florida Turnpike Florida Turnpike to Coconut Creek Parkway/M.L King Drive, exit 67. After going through the toll booth, continue straight through the light which is N.W. 31st heading South. The road will come to a T; make a left heading East on Atlantic Boulevard. Take a right heading South at the second light onto Powerline Road.
