2012 Aug 3	Introductory Session On Android 110 attendees more... This was an introductory session on Android.More than 100 students attended this session and were really excited about Goa Android Users Group.

2012 Apr 21	Dart Hackathon 40 attendees more... Goa GTUG participated in Global Dart Hackathon. Various interesting projects were developed during hackathon. Great discussion about whether dart could be a lingua franca of next generation web apps was done at time of event.We found that Dart has a potential but it needs mre documentation , better editor and greater library support and better dart2js compiler to match javascript/jquery.

This was not a technical session , but idea was to get non developers aware of trends in technlogy and encourage them to join GTUG Goa Management Team.Various topics discussed were:1. iOS, Android IceCream Sandwhich, Windows 8 2. Do you think Metro UI will revolutionize User Experience. 3. Google Wave was a failure but Google Maps are a great success. 4. Ms Office, Google Docs, Open Office 5. Smartphones are used by dumb people and dumb phones are used by smart people. 6. HandsOn events are better then Hackathons. 7. Has phablet opened a new market segment? 8. Is it end of road for RIM? 9. Frameworks spoiling the core development community? 10. Patents in softwares industry.

2012 Mar 22	Introduction To Google Summer Of Code and Discussion Of GTUG Project Ideas 60 attendees more... We introduced GTUG and Google Summer Of Code to students of BITS Goa. Various project ideas like solving travelling salesman problem using Google Maps, making indoor maps for BITS campus were taken up by students.

Google Goa State Event Goa GTUG - Goa State Google Technology User Group is very happy to organize this State Level event. Following the tradition from last year we have two delegates from Google Inc flying down to Goa to get an overview of the Developer Community and its activities in Goa State. Date, Time, Venue: The event will be hosted in the 2400 seating auditorium at BITS, Pilani - K.K. Birla Goa Campus on the 22nd January 2011 from 5:00 PM onwards. The event will followed by an interactive session with the Google Delegates for selected audience. Event Details: Abstract: Talk on OAuth2.0 - the latest and most talked about way of authorization and Google Apps Script by Gunjan Sharma and Shraddha Gupta respectively About OAuth 2.0 and Google Apps Scrip tOAuth2.0 - the latest and most talked about way of authorization. With every other Google API moving to support OAuth2.0 it has become a must known area for all Google Developers. Google Apps Script - Google Apps Script which is a Server side scripting language, based on JavaScript. Smarth Behl & Pranay Agrawal also joined us as facilitators. * Achintya Prakash, who actually was supposed to give lecture on Python, got a high fever at the last minute because of which instead Shashank had to deliver the Python lecture as well. We hope that the standards of the Python talk remained the same as it was done without any preparation and Achintya's slides (received at 2:08 PM during the event) were covered by Shashank on the spot. We personally visited the college to get an idea about what event would suit the best. Prof. Kavita Asnani, Information Technology Department has been very kind to coordinate the event at the GEC campus along with the student ambassador Shradha Shahapurkar and her team. A Subchapter was thus inaugurated in Padre Conceicao College of Engineering.
2010 Sep 23	Google Goa State Event Google App Engine, HTML5 1300 attendees more... Goa State GTUG is very happy to organize this State Level event. We had two delegates from Google Inc flying down to Goa to get an overview of the Developer Community and its activities in Goa State. The details of the event were as follows: Date, Time, Venue: The event was hosted in the 2400 seating auditorium at BITS, Pilani - K.K. Birla Goa Campus on the 23rd Sep, 2010 from 5.30pm- 8.00pm. The event was followed by an interactive session with the Google Delegates for selected audience. Event Type: Talks on Google App Engine and HTML5 by Google Delegates: Mr. Rajdeep Dua, Developer Advocate and India Lead, Developer Relations at Google India and Mr. Anirudh Dewani, Developer Programs Engineer at Google India respectively. Participation: Over 1300 (Over 900 participants from outside the host college) The event was open to all Participation Type: Faculty and students of over 10 colleges across Goa, various working professionals, IT freelancers, Technology Evangelists, people from Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore & Nashik and even Doctors for that matter. Participating Colleges: BITS-Pilani K.K. Birla Goa Campus, National Institute of Technology Goa, GEC Computer Engineering Dept., GEC IT Dept., Chowgule College, Goa University Computer Science Dept., Goa University IT Dept., Don Bosco College, RIT, PCCE Press and Media: The event was covered by leading press and media across Goa State like Times of India, Navhind Times, Gomantak Times, Herald, Goa Doot and Hello Publications' Magazine Event Proceedings: The event started with some informals to charge up the audience through which the audience & press and media got to know the participating colleges as each cheered up for their respective college. Then the Google Delegates and Chief Guest were called on the dais and presented with memento as a token of appreciation. To stress upon the fact that Goa State GTUG (Goa State Google Technology User Group) is a completely community driven group, Nitish Varma, one of the Community Member and Google Technologies' Enthusiast gave a brief of the Goa State GTUG from a community member perspective. Then the main talks for the day by Rajdeep Dua on Google App Engine and Anirudh Dewani on HTML5 commenced. The event ended with Shashank Todwal thanking the Organizing Team of the Goa State GTUG for a very successful Google Goa State Event. He also has worked on Social Web advocacy in last three years. He has around 12 years of experience in middleware, web services and integration space. He is passionate about helping developers understand and use Google Developer Products to solve business problems. Before joining Google, he was leading development efforts for Connected Services Framework in Microsoft India. He has also been associated with JBoss JMS open source development in the past. Rajdeep holds an MBA from IIM Lucknow, India. 2. Mr. Anirudh Dewani, Google:Anirudh is a Developer Programs Engineer at Google India His main interests are Google Apps, Google App Engine, HTML5, Google APIs, Java, J2EE, AJAX and web toolkits like GWT, Dojo etc. Previously he has been working on Enterprise Java and middleware/integration technologies like JMS, Web services, XML-RPC as well as open source frameworks like Spring and Hibernate. He has also been involved with Unisys on platform engineering for a 4GL.
