Malmö GTUG is the group for anyone interested in Google technologies in south Sweden. Malmö is located near telecommunications companies like Sony Ericsson and Android is one of the focus areas of the group but we try to have a good mix at our meetings. Events are held in Swedish or English depending on attendees preference.

2011 Oct 13	Porting to Google TV Google TV more... The doors are opening at 17.00 and our speaker Mark Shipton, ustwo, will begin at 18.00 sharing with us his experience of developing for GoogleTV.He will tell us how they did when they were porting an existing game to GoogleTV. How to develop, lessons learnt and some demonstrations.
2011 Jun 22	Android Plugin for Maven Android more... A small but interested group of 12 people turned up for this meeting in the middle of midsummer week. Hugo Josefson from JayWay showed us how to use the Maven Android plugin to manage dependencies and builds for Android projects. He also showed how to integrate with a build server in order to create a professional environment for developing Android applications and projects. There were a lot of questions asked and answers given regarding implementation details, setup specifics and other things. All in all good way to wrap up the GTUG activities for the summer.
2011 May 30	Physics in Android Games Android more... The meeting will include two parts, first a summary of Google I/O and the news presented there followed by the main presentation by Per Sikö and Martin Gunnarsson from Epsilon. They will cover the topic of "Physics in Android Games. "Realistic physics can add a new dimension to many traditional games, and enable a lot of new and creative game concepts. In this presentation we'll show how to integrate a physics engine into Android games and applications. We'll show features like gravity, collisions and joints, and explain how to use them. We'll finish off by showing a simple game incorporating all the topics we've covered, and sharing some valuable tips and tricks."
2011 Apr 13	Google Maps for Web applications Google Maps APIs more... Presentation by PopDevelop who are working with presenation of live data using Google Maps covering:Basic concepts The common parts of a Google Map. We will cover navigation controls, map tiles, icons, layers, events and some other subjects that are nice to know when moving on to the other sections. Custom styling and customization How to twist all the basic components into something that fits your particular site. Almost everything regarding colors, data and behavior can be tweaked or replaced. Performance optimization Techniques used to improve performance when big amounts of data need to be displayed and interacted with. By using server and client side clustering and KML-layers combined with careful coding, some impressive results can be achieved. Related stuff Some brief description of Flash maps, static maps, Google Fusion Tables and other related concepts that might be of interest.
2011 Feb 3	Erik Hellman from Sony Ericsson on Android 2.3 Android more... The first meeting of the Malmö GTUG was a great success with the 50 slots available filling up about a week before the event. The program consisted of a presentation by Erik Hellman from Sony Ericsson who demonstrated new features in Android Gingerbread and the 2.3 API:s as well as the new Xperia Arc phone. The entire presentation was run from the mobile using HDMI which was impressive.The presentation itself consisted of three parts. First a short demo of Android 2.3 and the Xperia Arc including new and interesting features. Then a short walkthrough of the news in the API using the developer highlights as frame and finally an interesting presentation on some of the things Sony Ericsson are working on in terms of Android and mobile interfaces. The 3D features available in Android through OpenGL and soon renderscript where mentioned and a couple of demos from Sony Ericsson research were presented.
