We are here to create a link betweeen rural and somewhat isolated developers in Southern Idaho. Between the highly technical programs at the high schools, 4 community colleges and universities and a vast group of developers and businesses we have the potential to grow a community support group focused around Google technologies that can help move our show to the next level and help create connections throughout the world.

We have a group of 25 teachers signed up for an 8 hour session tomorrow focusing on Going Google with Google Apps in Education and bi-monthly Q & A hangouts for the next 7 months. Our mission is to support local teachers in their quest to transition to Google Apps for Education.

The SouthernIdaho GTUG will be hosting a training camp leading up to the May 18-20 StartupWeekend event. 2012 Feb 17	Global Android DevCamp 2012 Android 22 attendees more... Format: Each GTUG/Android User group holds an Android Dev Camp at the same time. There is one global registration site like RHOK or SFD. 15 Minutes Hangouts held by API, library providers every two hours. There can be local teams as well as international ones. 48h Coding (maybe with some tutorials inbetween) Result: New apps, Knowledge Transfer

On February 16th we have the incredible opportunity to participate in a presentation/Hangout with Google and the Southern Idaho GTUG members and our Hackathon is scheduled for February 17 - 19.
2011 Jul 29	Mobile App Development with PhoneGap Android, PhoneGap more... We are planning to meet July 29th at Moxie Java Tuscany in Twin Falls from 9:00am till whenever. The focus will be on mobile app development with PhoneGap. Check out http://www.phonegap.com prior to the meeting to get familiar with the development environment and the concept of developing native apps for all platforms using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript with a PhoneGap java wrapper.

2011 Jun 24	HTML 5, PhoneGap and jQueryMobile Android, e.g. Google Calendar API 4 attendees more... We will be completing a training on HTML5 and looking into app development throught PhoneGap with Eclipse and jQuery Mobile. This allows development of Android apps using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Come join us to learn a little about HTML5 and this development platform.
